Automated flow cytometer for the analysis of urinary particles
Automated flow cytometer for the analysis of urinary particles
The hydrodynamic focussing in Sysmex urine fluorescence flow cytometer affords high throughput enumeration. This is essential to achieve the statistical reliability in particle counting laid down by the urinalysis reference method. The established technology in UF-50 combines high speed with the analysis of several thousands of particles from 9 µL of native urine. The quantitative result is given in minimum time. Automated, immediate analysis improves the workflow within the laboratory resulting in faster turn-around time. All particles are characterized not only by their physical but also their chemical properties after fluorescent dyes have labelled different intracellular molecules and organelles such as nucleic acids and mitochondria, and cellular structures like membranes. This in-depth information in the shape of a variety of optical signals is digitized and provides not only the basis for the categorization of the most common particles in urine microscopy but also for additional information which is provided within the scope of every analysis, addressing the most important clinical needs.
